Meet Geoff

Geoff Carroll is a passionate follower of Jesus and has been a student of the Biblical Text his entire life. The oldest of 7 kids in a minister’s family, Geoff continued his studies all the way through seminary receiving his Master of Divinity. But nothing compared to the perspective and insight that study in the land of the Bible allowed.

In 2005, Geoff realized his dream of studying in Israel and was accepted to a Master’s degree program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Geoff’s passion for study and research of Biblical culture, archaeology, and history grew exponentially as he directly engaged hundreds of sites throughout the lands of the Bible with a variety of incredible teachers, archaeologists, and religious leaders.

Geoff and his wife Jamie established Travel the Text to provide transformative travel and educational experiences that were set apart from the noise of the tourism industry. Travel the Text’s curriculum and carefully developed itineraries go beyond traditional experiences to provide Biblical study trip programs throughout the lands of the Bible including Israel, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, and Italy. These trips are not tours. They are especially designed for students of God's Word seeking to engage the Text in its context, from the perspectives of the original audience. We study on site where those stories were first lived and we walk in the footsteps of Jesus, the disciples, and church history. Education provided through experience is transformative and challenges us to increasingly invite the Kingdom of Heaven into our lives and into the lives of those around us.

Geoff currently resides in Italy with his wife Jamie and their 10 year old son. Living in and near the lands of the Bible allows endless opportunity for continued study as we continue to develop new relationships, understandings, and educational experiences.
